F.F.R.F. / AFS movie night – Agora, starring Rachel Weisz

This month we will be watching “Agora”. It take place in 4th century AD Alexandria Egypt. Astronomer, philosopher & Librarian, Hypatia
(Rachel Weisz) teaches her scientific beliefs to a class of all male students. Among them are young Christians that have no tolerance for competing Pagan theologies. Conflicts between the Christians & Pagans lead to the destruction of Alexandria and its famous library. We will then followed with a discussion on the subject. Some brief announcements about our activities, future meetings & local issues will follow.
This will be a joint meeting with the Atlanta Freethought Society.

FFRF and AFS will provide hot chocolate, coffee & soft drinks. Please bring snacks (chips & dip, cookies appetizers) & your favorite beverage. Doors open @ 6 PM so come early to socialize with like minded people!

All events are free & open to the public.
