Sunday Assembly Atlanta is doing a help often event at Medshare, and we thought it would be nice to help out with one of our fellow Atlanta secular non-profits. Go to their meetup page to sign up http://www.meetup.com/Sunday-Assembly/events/230998727/
MedShare is a nonprofit that collects surplus medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, distributors and manufacturers, and then redistributes them to healthcare facilities in the developing world. Our work shift will include a tour of their warehouse and an explanation of their operation. Afterwards, volunteers will sort and package medical supplies.
Please arrive by 8:45 for check-in so the program can begin on time.
To date, MedShare Atlanta shipped 1,150 containers of medical supplies and equipment to dozens of countries, including recent shipments to Sierra Leon and Liberia. Learn more at their website:
